Afrobeat singers, Burna Boy and Rema, have won big at the 2023 Billboard Music Awards held on Sunday, November 19, 2023.
Recall that the organisers of Billboard recently added the Afrobeat category to their nomination list.
Burna Boy won the award for the Top Afrobeats Artiste. Rema won the award for the Top Afrobeats Song for his Calm Down Remix with Selena Gomez.
These awards make the duo first recipient of the Afrobeat Billboard Music Award.
Other winners of the night include Nicki Minaj for Top Rap Female Artist. Taylor bagged 10 awards. SZA won three awards, Beyonce and Drake won two awards respectively etc.
‘Calm Down’ remix lost in other categories; the Top Billboard Collaboration, Top Billboard Excl. U.S. Song, Top Billboard Global 200 Song, and Top Radio Song categories.
