In these dreadful days of coronavirus destruction and disruption, a group of medical doctors, of the Catholic faith, have chosen to offer their services, online, to the public free of charge.
This was made known in the statement issued by the V-Consultation Volunteer Corps of the Association of Catholic Medical Practitioners of Nigeria.
It further stated that Christians of the Catholic denomination would be more favoured.
In the statement, the doctors stated that they have “volunteered to provide virtual counseling and consultation to members of the public especially Catholics who may need medical attention during this period of lockdown.”
One of the challenges being experienced in the global battle against the covid-19 pandemic is the growing shortage of doctors and other healthcare workers.
In Nigeria, the rate, of infections and confirmed cases of the virus, is threatening to collapse the Nigerians health sector and soon so many more doctors will be desperately needed and sought after.
This offer by the Catholic doctors has come at a time when such services are a soul-saver for a country in crisis of covid-19.
