First-half goals from Mason Mount and Oliver Giroud did the magic for Chelsea as they secured a comfortable 2-0 win against Wolverhampton Wanderers.
While Second half goals from Bruno Fernandes and Jesse Lingard sealed a hard-fought 2-0 win for Manchester United against Leicester City.
Both teams ended the season with identical points but United with a superior goal difference finished 3rd while Chelsea finished 4th.
Leicester, in fifth spot, will play in the Europa League next season where they will be joined by Tottenham, who drew 1-1 with Crystal Palace to leapfrog Wolves.
At the other end of the table, Bournemouth and managerless Watford dropped to the Championship while Aston Villa fans breathed a huge sigh of relief after they got the draw they needed at West Ham
