Adijat Adenike Olarinoye of Nigeria wins the women’s 55 kg weightlifting event by lifting a combined total of 203 kg, earning Nigeria its first medal—a gold medal.
It set a new Commonwealth Games record for the 203 kg lift.
Adijat faced pressure, but she pulled through to win the gold.
