Reality TV star, Kim Kardashian, has been legally declared single after a year she started her divorce proceedings from her estranged husband, Kanye West.
Judge Steven Cochran of Los Angeles Superior Court, on Wednesday, declared Kim single.
The news of their breakup and divorce had been disclosed in February 2021 and Kanye had since pleaded with Kim to restore the home, which Kim didn’t oblige to.
Kim, who had filed to be single in December, requested that the child custody and property be excluded from her marital status.
This idea, which was readily accepted by Kanye from the start, was argued upon recently by the rapper in February.
According to Kanye, the declaration made by Kim might have consequences on their marital assets and of course the custody of their children.
Kim accused him of giving the public false information leading to emotional stress, and also challenged the rapper for not keeping the dicorce private as agreed.
Kim stated that she wants to be detached from the marriage and nothing is ever going to change her mind.
She said, “I ask that the Court restore me to the status of a single person so that I can begin the healing process and so that our family can begin the healing process and move forward in this new chapter in our lives.”
Things became chaotic in October when Kim’s relationship with Saturday Night Live comedian Pete Davidson became public. Since then, it’s been from one drama and threats to another.
Recently, Kanye West displayed a series of threats online and in his music on Kim’s alleged boyfriend, Pete Davidson.
He has also been dropped by the fourth lawyer representing him in his court proceedings.
Lately, Kanye has been linked to several women since his breakup, which includes model Julia Fox and others.
