Popular singer, Seun Kuti, has been remanded for another four days in request of an application seeking for an extension of remand.

The singer who was arraigned to court days ago over an assault made on a Nigerian Police officer, will remain detained.

A Sabo-Yaba Chief Magistrates’ Court in Lagos under the sitting of Chief Magistrate, Mrs Adebola Olatubosun, granted an application for the extension of remand.

His remand has been extended to May 23, 2023. The Magistrate on Tuesday, May 16, had stated that the singer be remanded for 48 days.

Mr Simon Lough (SAN), who led a police legal team to the court on Thursday, May 18, 2023, had moved the application over the request for further investigation.

Mr Lough stated that this would allow the police force conduct a better investigation over the reason the afrobeat singer assaulted the officer.
