The Federal Government is currently reviewing the January 18th resumption date for schools across the country, following the recent rise in COVID-19 cases.
Education Minister, Mallam Adamu Adamu, stated this on Monday at the Presidential Task Force on COVID-19 briefing in Abuja.
There have been concerns over the planned resumption of academic activities. The Academic Staff Union of Universities also recently called on the government to reconsider its decision over the safety of students and lecturers.
“On the January 18 resumption date, we are reviewing it. We are going to review it,” the minister said.
“At the PTF meeting today, we considered it, and tomorrow, the ministry is going to take it up.”
