Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu’s health condition is improving after testing positive for COVID-19, Commissioner for Health, Prof. Akin Abayomi, has said.

In a statement on Tuesday, Abayomi said the governor is in stable condition with no sign of the adverse effect of the contagion.

Recall that Sanwo-Olu had on Friday self-isolated immediately after one of his close aides tested positive for COVID-19 on Thursday.

The governor and other members of his team were tested by the Lagos State Biobank on Saturday with his result showing he tested positive for the virus.

And Abayomi, who himself contracted and recovered from the virus in May, assured that the governor will “soon be free of the virus and fully back on the beat to steer the ship of our dear State”.

He added that, “Our thoughts, prayers and well-wishes are with our Governor at this time. We wish him full recovery soonest.”

The commissioner, however, urged  Lagos residents to remain vigilant and compliant to avoid #COVID-19  infection.

Lagos remains Nigeria’s epicentre with over 25,000 of the country’s 73,374 cases, representing nearly 35 per cent.
