Residents of Oba in Anambra are still in awe as the funeral for the mother of socialite and billionaire, Obi Cubana, continues.
The event, which had kick off some days ago, soared into high spirits yesterday as more prominent Nigerians landed in the village.
Several videos have shown well known actors and eminent members in the entertainment industry; the likes of Williams Uchemba, Akin Alabi, Alexx Ekubo, Frodd, Kanayo O. Kanayo, Ubi Franklin, E-Money, Kcee, Cubana chiefpriest, had been in attendance for three days now.
The tents as shown in the videos were filled to the brim with members joyfully eating and enjoying themselves, with hefty bodyguards and bouncers scaring off villagers and “money pickers”.
The funeral rites started on Thursday, July 15, with a service of songs and Christian wake keep, followed by the main event which took place yesterday, July 16, in St. Paul’s Anglican church, Oba, Anambra with over 15 priests in attendance.
As promised, men and women who have been in attendance have been spraying naira and dollar notes without any care in the world.
Residents of the community struggled to pick as much as they could as wads of notes were flying from every angle.
Spectators were expected to come with their nylon bags to take money home as wads of cash rained on them.
More artistes landed in Oba yesterday including Davido, D,Banj, Phyno and others.
Politicians were not left out and they turned out in large numbers.
The funeral turned concert had the likes of Davido and Kcee performing into the night. Davido performed his hit song “Fem”.
