Ramadan has to do with fasting. Fasting entails abstinence from food, drink and sex. The commandment was given in Quran 2 vs 185. “The month of Ramadan is the one in which the Qur’ān was revealed as guidance for mankind, and as clear signs that show the right way and distinguish between right and wrong. So those of you who witness the month must fast in it. But the one who is sick, or is on a journey (should fast) as much from other days (as he missed). Allah intends (to provide) ease for you and does not intend (to create) hardship for you. All this is so that you may complete the number (of fasts as prescribed) and proclaim the Takbīr of Allah for having guided you, and (so) that you may be grateful,”it says.

In other to enjoy a healthy Ramadan, one must fast and feast. We are advised to concentrate on things that would take our minds away from our belle. Here are some;

  1. Engage in the five daily Salat
  2. Read the Quran
  3. Engage in studies with others
  4. Engage in supplications

While we fast and feast, it is the best time to improve our health. Abstinence from food and drinks can enhance one’s health for 30 days. Also, we should remain active during fasting.

Those who find the spiritual exercise difficult, Allah said they should leave the fast. However, you must have the intention of doing the fast and must experience it. The sick ones or those on transit fall into this category.
