The family of American rapper, DMX, who recently passed on, has raised alarm over alleged rumours about some scammers trying to gain from the rapper’s fans for his funeral.

Recall that DMX died on Friday, April 9, 2021 after he suffered a heart attack on April 2 after a drug overdose.

They also cleared rumours circulating about Jay-Z and Beyonce buying the rapper’s master recordings for $10 million.

In a statement released on Tuesday, they said, “There have been a few rumours following our loved one, Earl Simmons’, passing that we’d like to clear up. No one has bought Earl’s masters.

“If anyone is requesting money for his funeral please be aware the person is a scammer. We will keep the public posted on funeral/memorial service arrangements,” the statement said.

However they didn’t disclose when the rapper will be laid to rest or reveal any details concerning the funeral.

The family had released a statement on Friday to announce the rapper’s passing.

They said, “We are deeply saddened to announce today that our loved one, DMX, birth name of Earl Simmons, passed away at 50-years-old at White Plains Hospital with his family by his side after being placed on life support for the past few days.
