Former Ivory Coast international and Chelsea legend Didier Drogba has denied converting from to Islam.
He made this clarification while reacting to the viral report that he has converted to Islam.
There were speculations in some section of the media that Drogba has dumped Christianity for Islam after he was spotted praying with Muslims.
But the ex-soccer star has come out to say he hasn’t changed his religion as being speculated.
He explained that he was only paying “respect” to his Muslim brothers during a visit to his village.
In a tweet, Drogba wrote, “This story is going viral ? but I haven’t changed religion.
This was just me paying respect to my Muslim brothers i was visiting in my village. A moment of togetherness.
Much love and blessings to all.””
Drogba is of the Roman Catholic faith. His Malian estranged wife Lalla Diakate is a Muslim.
