The Department of State Services (DSS) says it is interrogating the suspended Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) Abdulrasheed Bawa.

Spokesperson of the Service, Peter Afunanya, confirmed the development on Wednesday night.

In a statement, Afunanya said, “The Department of State Services (DSS) has invited Mr. Abdulrasheed Bawa, the suspended Chairman of Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).”

He said Bawa arrived a “few hours ago” . The invitation relates to some investigative activities concerning him.”

This is coming after President Bola Tinubu, on Wednesday, approved the indefinite suspension of Bawa over “weighty allegations of abuse of office levelled against him.”

Director of Information, Office of the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Willie Bassey, said the suspension is to allow for a thorough investigation into his conduct while in office following “weighty allegations” against him.
