The senior women’s basketball team, D’Tigress, have been drawn with the hosts of the FIBA Women’s World Cup, Australia.
After clinching qualification for the tournament last month in Belgrade, the ladies discovered their group foes on Thursday when the draw was done.
D’Tigress were also drawn against France, Canada, Japan and Serbia in Group B of the World Cup campaign billed to hold in September.
A total of 12 teams will be participating in the tournament in Sydney, with six teams in each group A and B.
Four teams from each group are expected to advance to the next round, while the two bottom teams would crash out early.
Five-time African champions, D’Tigress, will hope to be among the top four in group B to stay on in the competition scheduled for 22 September to 1 October, 2022.
