Eccentric rock producer and convicted murderer, Phil Spector, dies a prisoner aged 81

American record producer, songwriter, musician and a convicted murderer, Phil Spector, has died from covid complications at age 81.

Phil, born December 26, 1939 in The Bronx,New York, U.S and from Los Angeles, California U.S, was declared dead on Sunday January 16, 2021.

The Music producer and pioneer was said to have died from COVID-19 complications over the weekend in the French camp, California, U.S at the age of 81.

Phil Spector was convicted in the murder of American actress, Lana Clarkson, who was found dead on the Pyrenees Castle, the Alhambra, California, Spector’s mansion.

His driver had confirmed he heard a gunshot before Spector exited his house through the backdoor carrying a gun muttering, “I think i just shot her.”

Spector had later changed his statement claiming it was an “accidental suicide”.

He was sentenced to nineteen years to life in state prison on May 29, 2009.

Lana Clarkson died February 3, 2003.

Few people have reacted to the news on Twitter. Dierdre McDowell @McDowe20 tweeted, “can’t deny the genius however the dark side of Spector overshadows any brilliance.”

Clare Stead @Tclare27 tweeted, “Convicted murderer should be first on the list. Domestic abuser should be second, if he ‘s to be remembered at all.”

Phil Spector was indeed a genius before he was convicted, his albums include; Phil Spector: It felt like a kiss (disc 1), Let it be (1970) and many others.
