A former Kaduna Central Senator, Shehu Sani, has stated that government at both the federal and state levels are confused in the handling of the coronavirus pandemic as schools across the country resume on Monday.

In a tweet on Monday, the former Senator raised an alarm over the lack of COVID-19 measures in schools as they were made to resume amid the second wave.

He therefore urged state governments to pay more attention in ensuring adherence to COVID-19 measures and not the Federal Government.

He tweeted: “Reopening schools and other #COVID19 regulatory measures should be a matter for the states and not the FG; the 36 states, including FCT have different infection rates. There is evident confusion on how to tackle the second wave.”

Schools across the country have been scheduled to resume today, Monday, despite the COVID-19 resurgence.

The resumption has caused fear among some Nigerians with reports that some parents stopped their children from resuming.
