Elections: Late arrival of voters trail commencement of accreditations in Lekki, Ibeju areas of Lagos

The accreditation of voters in Etiosa started on a low key with election officials hanging around the polling booths.

At the Okun Alfa community in Etiosa Local Government, the Ward D polling centre at 9.00am local time had only about 10 people including party agents present.

A middle aged man, Ayomide Ibrahim, said they were expecting a large turnout despite the delay.

“We are not losing hope of people coming out. You know the Nigerian factor of African time.

“We expect them to come out and exercise their rights.”

Stretching down to the Lekki phase 2, Ajah and Okeogun axis of the area, polling centres, people were seen playing football on the streets.

KAFTAN Post lenses also spotted shops selling food items with many keeping away from polling centres.

It is expected that as time unfolds there will be a better response of voters to the elections are expected to produce executives for the local governments.
