A mesmerized record-breaking crowd for a women’s football match in the UK witnessed England’s heart-pounding victory as Chloe Kelly’s extra-time goal denied longtime foes Germany in the thrilling and historic final.

With just 10 minutes of added time left, Manchester City winger Kelly poked the ball home from about three yards out to give England its first significant senior international football victory since 1966. In doing so, she permanently cemented her name in football folklore.

In the second half of the regular 90 minutes, Manchester United attacking midfielder Ella Toone put England ahead after expertly lifting the ball into the top corner from Keira Walsh’s perfect cross to excite the 87,192-strong crowd. However, Lina Magull’s near-post equalizer gave Germany hope and extended the tense match by another 30 minutes.
