Enyimba International FC and Delta Queens have been crowned champions of the 2022/2023 Nigerian elite league for both male and female category, respectively.
The Peoples’ Elephant emerged after winning the Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) Super-Six playoffs with a 1-1 draw against defending Rivers United FC.
They now boast of nine league titles in the club’s history.
The Aba Warriors finished top of the Super-Six playoffs with nine points, same as Remo Stars but with superior goal difference.
In the female category, Delta Queens came from behind to deny Bayelsa Queens their hopes of retaining the NWFL Super 6 title.
Delta showed their mettle with a fightback through Agoh’s equalizer seven minutes after the hour mark.
The energetic Agoh then turned up again with the winner in the 86th minute.
Meanwhile, in the third-place match, Rivers Angels beat Conference Queens 2-0.
