Nigerian players had a fair share of the Europa League games that were played on Thursday evening.

Victor Osimhen headlined the performance for Super Eagles players as he scored a brace for Napoli to force a 2-2 draw at Leicester City in a thrilling Group C tie.

Osimhen’s brace – the first in the 69th, the second goal three minutes from time – were the first goals by the Super Eagles striker for Napoli this season.

Sadly, his countryman, Wilfred Ndidi saw red in the closing minutes after a professional tackle that showed him the second yellow card of the game. However, his performance before his exit was lauded.

Also, Paul Onuachu snatched a late match winner for Genk at Rapid Vienna of Austria. The Belgian league Goal King grabbed the decisive strike in stoppage time.

Meanwhile, Ranger’s Joe Aribo and Leon Balogun suffered a rare 2-0 Europa League group defeat after being undone by Lyon in their Group A opener.
