Rivers State Governor Siminalayi Fubara has appointed the immediate past Speaker of the State House of Assembly, Edison Ehie, as his new Chief of Staff.
Ehie replaced Chidi Amadi, who is a kinsman to the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Ezenwo Wike.
The immediate-past speaker had on Sunday night resigned his position as Speaker and member representing Ahoada-East Constituency 2 in the Rivers State House of Assembly.
Rivers State was thrown into crisis as a result of the fallout between Governor Fubara and his predecessor, Nyesom Wike, which sparked political war between loyalist of the two heavyweights in the State House of Assembly.
However, President Bola Tinubu has made efforts to broker peace between the two parties.
