Veteran Fuji artiste, Wasiu Alabi, popularly known as Pasuma, has stated reasons why he allowed his daughter to join the U.S Navy.

Recall that the Fuji artiste had recently posted his daughter on Instagram on Wednesday, December 23, 2020, wearing the military uniform, captioned,

“Congratulations to me. My girl is a Navy now in USA. Opeyemi L’america. Congrats my dearest daughter.

“You always make me and your mum proud. May God guide you in your chosen career. (AMIN YAH ALLAHU, E MA LO WA OOO IJOBA LAWA OOO.”

In an interview with a news report, the artist said he is one of the most fulfilled fathers on Earth as he is proud of his daughter’s achievements.

He said, “I am Proud of her. Any Parent would be proud to know that their child has a mindset of service.

“I supported her decision from the beginning. She had been talking about joining the U.S Navy for some years, so i was not surprised when she eventually enlisted.”

Pasuma spoke about the respect he has for the military men and women trying their best, sacrificing their time and energy to protect and serve the nation.

He also stated that if his daughter had chosen Nigerian Army, he wouldn’t have objected to it.

He said, “As a Nigerian, I have the utmost respect for the men and women of the Nigerian military for the selfless work they do. The level of insecurity in the country may initially make any parent feel unsure about their child joining the military.

“However, there is the risk of danger in almost everything we do in life. Pilots take risks; driving a car or crossing a road also has risks. Being in the military in America too involves risks, so I would not have discouraged her.”
