Gombe’s Mai of Tangale tests COVID 19 positive

Dr. Abdu Buba Maisharu II, the Mai of Tangale chiefdom in Gombe state, has tested positive for coronavirus.

While confirming this to newsmen, palace sources said the monarch’s samples were taken to the laboratory of the National Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) in Abuja and the result was returned positive on Sunday.

Samples of other members of the Mai’s family have been taken to Abuja while they were said to have been evacuated from the palace to a quarantine facility pending the tests result.

Dr. Abdu Buba Maisharu II, the Mai of Tangale is a first class monarch presiding over the Tangale chiefdom with headquarters in Billiri Local Government Area of Gombe State.

Meanwhile, the emir of Daura, Umar Farouk, who was recently rushed to hospital in critical condition over an undisclosed ailment has recovered and has been discharged.

The revered Emir, while affirming that COVID-19 was real, enjoined Nigerians to fear God and support current efforts by federal and state governments to tackle the pandemic.
