Gunmen suspected to be bandits, abducted a retired military officer, Col. Lawal Rabi’u Yandoto and four others, including his two children, in Zamfara state.
Yandoto was on his way from Gusau to his home town, Yandoto, in Tsafe local government area of Zamfara state when he was abducted on Sunday.
Zamfara has been battling with insurgency for several months and despite gains by the military, activities of the criminals are still felt in some parts of the state.
