Halloween party shooting leaves one dead, nine injured

A shooting at a Halloween party in Texarkana, Texas has left one person dead and nine others injured.

The Texarkana Police Department confirmed this news on Sunday.

The shooting, which had occurred at a party at Octavia’s Event Center in the 2300 block of Texas Boulevard shortly after midnight, eventually killed one person.

A 20-year-old man has passed on in the hospital following the shooting. The nine victims’ injuries are non-threatening.

According to the officers that responded to the scene, “… encountered a large number of people running from the building and several inside suffering from gunshot wounds,” the Texarkana Police Department said in a statement on Facebook.

They also confirmed more people were still stuck inside the venue as at the time of the shooting.

According to the reports from the Texarkana State Police, the victims were taken to Wadley Regional Medical Center and Christus St. Michael Hospital.

The deceased young man’s name is still being withheld till he is identified by his family.

Halloween is a tradition that is being celebrated on the 31st of October every year. Halloween simply means the night before the holy saints’ day.
