Governor Seyi Makinde has debunked the claim that his coronavirus infection came from PDP rally.

Speaking to KAFTAN POST correspondent, a close aide of the Oyo State Governor who would not want his name in print due to the sensitivity of the issue, confidently explained that Governor Makinde contacted the virus through the University College Hospital (UCH), Ibadan Team.

The aide, who said himself is now in self-isolation pointedly said it is absurd for anyone to think his principal contacted Covid-19 through the PDP rally held in Ibadan on March 18.

Explaining why it cannot be through the Ibadan PDP unification rally, the aide said those who attended the rally, such as Governor Douye Diri of Bayelsa State and eight other persons had already tested negative despite spending a lot of time with Governor Makinde for over 20 hours.

He also said it is very unlikely that Makinde got the virus from the same contact that Kaduna Governor, Nasir El-rufai, contacted the virus from because Makinde never had contact with anyone tested positive in Aso Villa.

He confidently said Governor Makinde contracted the Virus through the University College Hospital (UCH), Ibadan Team.

The aide said Makinde obviously got the virus from the UCH team as the Governor had been working with the UCH team for the past eight days on how to contain convid-19 in Oyo State without knowing that the UCH officials were exposed to the virus outside Nigeria.

“Oga has been working very closely with the Provost of College of Medicine, his Deputy and the CMD of UCH. They have attended several meetings with Oga.

“Oga went for test when these people tested Positive. There is higher possibility that the UCH team imported the virus because they all returned from dangerous zones in about twelve to thirteen days ago”, the aide said.
