Award winning singer, David Adeleke, also known as Davido, has revealed how his father had felt the need to help with his career after he was offered N20 million for an endorsement.

The singer said he was contacted by a telecommunication company, for an endorsement over the first two songs he had just released. He said he was 17 years old.

He said he had convinced his dad after the endorsement and his dad had built his studio resulting in his first album.

Davido said, “I remember when MTN, a telecommunication company, came, and they were like, they want to do endorsement, but then he was like, ‘how much?’ And I said 20 million. I was 17. Nobody has seen that kind of money.

“Wow, this is from Music, and it’s off like two songs, of course. I’m like, ‘Daddy, see, we can do this’.

“He looking at it, he built me a studio and gave me some money to run my stuff and did my first album, and it came out really really successful.”

The singer made his debut with one of his singles ‘Dami Duro’ in 2012 from his studio album ‘Omo Baba Olowo’.
