Afrobeat singer, Oyinkansola Sarah Aderibigbe, also known as Ayra Starr, has revealed how she was inspired by American rapper, Nicki Minaj.
In an interview with Teen Vogue, Ayra in a viral video stated how much Nicki Minaj means to her since her childhood days.
The ‘Bloody Samaritan’ crooner said the rapper made her feel confident in every thing she did as a child.
She added that she was in a call with the rapper popularly known as the Queen of Rap and the moment felt surreal to her because it was unbelievable that her dream came true.
Ayra Starr said, “It just feels so surreal. I was on a call with Nicki Minaj.
“She doesn’t understand how much I love her.
“I grew up listening to her. I was like, ‘You made me feel confident. Because of you, I could tell my teachers no!'”
