The husband of a coronavirus patient has alleged neglect by health authorities in Lagos.

In a video going viral on social media, the middle-aged man, who gave his name simply as Mr Alamatu, lamented the harsh treatment being meted on his wife at the Infectious Disease Hospital, Lagos.

According to him, his wife hasn’t been fed nor attended to by medical personnel since she tested positive.

A visibly angry Mr Olawonju believes it is better for his wife to die in his home than remain in the facility.

“Let the commissioner come and see what is happening. Let the minister come and see what is happening. If I’m telling lie, my name is Mr Olawonju,” he lamented.

” She hasn’t seen a doctor since morning; she hasn’t seen the nurse and she hasn’t been fed. You’re telling me I shouldn’t take her home? Let her go and die in my house.

“The fact that she has coronavirus doesn’t she should just be left like that.”

The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control on Tuesday morning confirmed four new cases, tallying 135.

Lagos, the country’s epicentre, has 81 confirmed cases.
