An imported cow caused some stampede at the international wing of the Murtala Muhammed International Airport, Lagos as it tried to escape from its crate.

Reports say the cow was one of the 250 cows flown into the country from New Jersey, United States, by the Ekiti State government.

Trouble started when the cow tried to escape from its crates while being offloaded from a chartered cargo special flight.

The escaping cow led to passengers to run for safety at the tarmac.

The situation however was brought under control by the ground handlers.

The cows were said to have been imported into the country by the Ekiti State government in partnership with a private organization for their Dairy Farm in Ikun.
