The Nigeria Police Force (NPF) has successfully apprehended two internationally wanted fugitives involved in organized criminal activities. The arrests, which took place in separate operations, have been hailed as significant successes in combating transnational crime.
Felix Omorgia Elas Erosa Johnson Omoria, a suspected ringleader of a human trafficking syndicate, was arrested in Benin City, Edo State. Omoria had been declared wanted by Belgian authorities following an Interpol red notice issued in December 2023. He is accused of trafficking young Nigerian women, including minors, to Italy, where they were dispersed across Europe for sexual exploitation. Omoria is set to be arraigned at the Federal High Court in Benin City, where he will face charges related to his criminal activities.
In another operation, 37-year-old Okuili Sebastian, also known as SJ, was apprehended at a hideout in Suka, Enugu State. Sebastian is wanted by authorities in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) for involvement in armed robbery, cultism, drug trafficking, and other serious criminal activities. His arrest marks a significant victory for Nigeria’s international law enforcement efforts.
Inspector General of Police (IGP) Kodu PhD commended the professionalism and dedication of the operatives involved in both high-profile arrests. The IGP emphasized the importance of continued collaboration with international law enforcement agencies to ensure the protection of citizens both within Nigeria and across global borders.
The successful arrests highlight Nigeria’s ongoing commitment to tackling transnational crime, and the Police Force remains determined to bring criminals to justice, both at home and abroad. The NPF’s ability to work seamlessly with international agencies like Interpol has proven instrumental in bringing these fugitives to justice.
