The Kwara State Police Command has confirmed the murder of one Biodun Ajibola, relative of a former Senator, Simeon Suleiman Ajibola, who represented Kwara South in the National Assembly, by suspected kidnappers

The armed men reportedly stormed the farm settlement of the former senator and killed Biodun Ajibola, said to be a supervisor in the facility, on Monday, in Isapa, Ekiti Local Government of the state.

It was understood that Ajibola was murdered in cold blood in a bid to resist the gunmen’s attempt to abduct him in the farm.

The armed men were said to have stormed the farm around 8am on the fateful day.

A family source, who did not want to be mentioned, said on Monday evening, the kidnappers’ desperate attempt to whisk away one Felix Segun Adeleye, who is the driver attached to the supervisor of the farm, failed after they sighted some motorcyclists coming in their direction.

“Thank God that Senator Simeon Ajibola was not around. Perhaps their intention was to take him away. But the supervisor in charge of the farm was not lucky, as he was killed when the kidnappers invaded the farm.

“Senator Ajibola’s driver attached to the late supervisor was wounded, and he is currently in the hospital in Ilorin receiving treatment,” the source further informed.
