The convoy of the Oyo State Governor, Seyi Makinde, reportedly ran over a toddler, killing him in Ogbomoso.
While the victim is yet to be identified, reports claim the accident happened when the governor visited the state capital on Thursday for a Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) campaign ahead of Saturday’s local government election in the state.
The report adds that residents of the ancient city are currently protesting the killing of the toddler by the Governor’s convoy.
Some of those who stormed the venue of the campaign condemned the death of the toddler.
Meanwhile, the Oyo State government has declared Friday, a public holiday to enable the public prepare for the Saturday poll.
