Son of President Muhammadu Buhari’s nephew, Mamman Daura, Mohammed Daura, has dismissed reports suggesting his father is being treated abroad for renal and breathing problems.

Mohammed was quoted on Friday that the reports were concocted.

“Today is the 21st of August, 2020 and for the past couple of days, we have been forced to deny, numerous times, a completely fabricated story about our father’s wellbeing. Alhamdulillah Baba is perfectly fine. He neither has a history of renal problems nor does he have any breathing difficulties like was suggested in the concocted news story,” he said.

Mohammed was however silent on whether his father was on a trip abroad.

A close aide of the elder statesman, Aminu Kurfi, had reportedly said Daura travelled to London for a routine medical check-up.

Reports said Mr Kurfi acknowledged that Daura was at the funeral prayer for late journalist, Wada Maida, and did not show any sign of illness, adding that he saw Daura off at the airport on Wednesday and received notice of his arrival in the UK.

Meanwhile, Daura was seen in a  video circulating on social media on Saturday in sound condition at home and not abroad.

“No iota of truth in the earlier story that Mallam Mamman Daura was flown to London for an emergency medical attention, he is hale and hearty, Nigerians should disregard that story,” presidential aide, Bashir Ahmad, wrote alongside the video.
