A 29-yr old man, Owolabi Folorunso Adewale of Maraisa Lane, Igan road Ago-Iwoye in Ogun State, on Monday killed his 99-year old aunt, Ebunola Aroboto cutting her to sizes with cutlass over alleged witchery.
The suspect told Kaftanpost that he was convinced the deceased was behind his spiritual problems.
According to him, he is a regular player of “Baba Ijebu” lotto, “whenever I am sure of wining, my father’s elder sister always use her supernatural power to change my winning numbers,” he explained.
Confirming the incident, the Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO) in the state, Abimbola Oyeyemi said a distress call was placed to the DPO Ago-Iwoye Division, CSP Ade Adedoyin that a middle aged man butchered his aunt to death at Maraisa Lane Igan road Ago-Iwoye.
“On receiving the distress call, the DPO quickly led detectives to the scene where the suspect was promptly arrested and the cutlass which he used to wreck the havoc recovered,” he recounted.
Meanwhile, body of the deceased has been deposited at Ijebu-Ode General Hospital mortuary for post mortem examination while the Commissioner of Police, Ahmed Iliyasu directed the Deputy Commissioner of Police State Criminal investigation and intelligence Department DCP Wale Abass to take over the case and prosecute the suspect.
