A massive celebration is being witnessed on the streets of Bauchi, the Bauchi State capital, following the declaration of President Muhammadu Buhari as the winner of the presidential election.

From Yelwa Tudu in Bauchi metropolis to Bakaro, Makama Jahun, Wunti, Baking Kura, the supporters of the president started dancing and jubilating as early as 6:45am

The celebration was also witnessed along Bauchi-Jos road from Miri to other towns and villages. Supporters of Buhari flagged down motorists chanting “Four plus four”, “Said Baba.”

They carried the All Progressives Congress (APC) flags, brooms, and sticks. Some were even wielding cutlasses but as at the time of filing this report, the celebration was peaceful.

“We are happy that Buhari has been re-elected because he has taught Nigerians to be hardworking. Now people have stopped thinking of looting and easy money. We have realised that hard work and honesty are what Nigerians need.

“We need a leader like Buhari to guide us. Corruption almost killed this county. We thank God for this victory,” Fatsuma Shehu, a married woman who was among those celebrating on the streets of Tilde Fulani in Toro local government told our correspondent.

As it is, the massive jubilation trailing the victory of Buhari, will likely continue into the night.
