Hollywood actress, Meegan Good, and her husband, DeVon Franklin, seem to be heading to the end of their nine years of marriage.
The estranged husband, DeVon, has filed for divorce after their scandal-free marriage.
The couple met on the set of Jumping the Broom in 2011 and had gotten married the year after, 2012, but their marriage was without a child.
According to the couple, their decision was made after several trials and prayers. The couple, who are deeply rooted in the Gospel as Christians, said they will be connected eternally but not as a married couple.
They said, “After much prayer and consideration, we have decided to go into our futures separately but forever connected.
“There’s no one at fault; we believe this is the next best chapter in the evolution of our love. We are incredibly grateful for the life-changing years we’ve spent together as husband and wife.”
According to legal documents exclusively obtained by The Blast, the divorce case was opened on Monday, December 20, at the Stanley Mosk Courthouse in Los Angeles, California.
Meegan and DeVon took to their Instagram pages in June to mark their ninth year of marriage.
Meegan wrote, “You are the best decision I’ve ever made (besides loving Jesus LOL).
“I love you with everything inside me …in this life and in the next.
“To the love of my life, my husband/purpose partner, happy anniversary!!.”
DeVon also shared a photo of himself and Meegan. He wrote, “I love you my life. Happy Anniversary #9.”
Earlier this month, Franklin had congratulated his estranged wife on the rollout of her latest project, the Amazon Prime sitcom, “Harlem.”
He said, “I’m so proud of my love @Meagangood!.
“She’s one of the most talented actors on the planet AND she’s funnier than you may know but I’m so glad you finally get a chance to see her do it all as Camille Parks in the new Amazon show #Harlem.”
The couple co-authored “The Wait: A Powerful Practice for Finding the Love of Your Life and the Life You Love,” which detailed the abstinence-based approach of their early relationship.
They had the project in 2016.
