Nollywood actor, Olanrewaju James Omiyinka a.k.a Baba Ijesha, whose case is currently being tried at the Ikeja Special Offences Court, has been adjourned over absence of witnesses.

The prosecution team of the Lagos State Government on Friday, November 12, 2021, told the court that a witness was scared to be in court hence the absence.

While the state counsel, Mr Yusuf Sule, stated the reason for the scared witness, he also gave reasons for the other two absent witnesses.

According to the state counsel, Mr Yusuf Sule, a Police officer needed permission before he could come to the state as he had been transferred from his location to another during the process of the court proceedings.

He said, “My lord, the first witness who is a police officer could not come to court today because he has been transferred and needs to get permission from where he was posted to appear here.

“The second witness could not come to court because he is jittery, he is scared to come to court.

“My lord, we will ensure that all the witnesses are in court by next Friday.”

The case, which was preceded by Justice Oluwatoyin Taiwo, was adjourned till November 19.
