NBS reports reveal Abia State residents bought petrol at highest price in February

Residents of Abia State have been reported by the National Bureau of Statistics (NBS) to have paid the highest price for petrol for the month of February 2021 at N180 per litre, while Osun State residents paid the lowest daily average at N162.91 per litre.

This is as the average price of kerosene increased by N5.25 to N355.80 per litre.

The CEO, NBS, Dr. Yemi Kale, made this known in the report published as ‘February 2021 Petrol/PMS Price Watch and February 2021 Kerosene Price Watch report’ on Saturday.

The report on kerosene according to the NBS said:
“The national average price/litre was N355.80 in February 2021, highest average price sold in Taraba (N448.33), Benue (N447.50), Ebonyi (N435.00),while the highest average price was sold in Bayelsa (N206.94), Yobe (N297.28), Zamfara (N305.13).

On petrol popularly called Premium Motor Spirit (PMS), Kale said: “The national average price/litre was N166.24 in February 2021.
“States with the highest average prices were Abia (N180.00), Kogi (N175.82), Kebbi (N173.07).

States with the lowest average prices were Osun (N162.91), Nassarawa (N163.08) and Katsina (N163.25).

The report also stated on Liquefied petroleum cooking gas that: “The average price for 12.5kg refilling was sold at N4363.51.States with the highest prices: Sokoto (N4884.04) Cross river (N4853.57) and Bauchi( N4682.5).

According to the report, the states with the lowest prices are Zamfara (N3754.25), Kaduna (N3858.33) and Katsina (N3988.99).
