NEMA receives 126 stranded Nigerians from Libya

The National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) has received 126 stranded Nigerians assisted back to the country from Libya.

The Director General of the Agency, Alh Mustapha Habib Ahmed represented by Ibrahim Farinloye in address to the returnees urged Nigerians to be wary of close associates or family friends or neighbourhood elders who would deceived with sweet talk of better life in foreign land.

These people are found cashing-in as messiah to helping Nigerians to slavery which the victims would regret through the rest of their lives.

The Director General highlighted that the new deceit being used as destination points are Iraq, Dubai (United Arab Emirates) and Egypt but all their victims end up in connection houses in Libya.

The Returnees were voluntarily airlifted from Misrata, Libya consisted of 62 adult females, 6 female children and 4 infant females.

While the males were 46 adults, 2 children and 6 infants by IOM

The flight, Al Buraq Air with registration number 5A-DMG Boeing 700-787 landed at the Cargo Wing of the Murtala Muhammad International Airport, Ikeja at about 1622 hours.

Other Agencies that joined NEMA are Nigeria Refugee Commission, NAPTIP, SSS, Police and Immigration Service
