Nestle leads losers chart, as equity market gains N78bn

Nestlé Nigeria Plc yesterday recorded the highest loss at the Nigerian Stock Exchange, dropping by N20.00 to close at N1580.00, Unilever Nigeria Plc followed with a loss of N43.00, Custodian and investment Plc trailed with a loss of N0.45 kobo to close at N6.10 kobo, Glaxosmith Kline fell by N0.45 kobo to close at N11.55 kobo, Flour Mills Nigeria Plc down by N0.25 kobo to close at N20.75 kobo.

On the contrary, Nigerian Breweries led gainers table during the day, appreciating by N7.50 kobo to close at N82.50 kobo, Mobil Oil followed with a gain of N1.80 kobo to close at N170.00, Dangote Flour Nigeria PLC added N0.50 kobo to close at N9.95 kobo, UAC of Nigeria gained N0.50 kobo to close at N9.00, Zenith Bank Plc grow by N0.45 kobo to close at N25.80 kobo.

The NSE trading result for the day showed that market capitalisation of listed equities appreciated by N78 billion or 0.64 per cent to N12.162 trillion from N12.084 trillion traded the previous day.

The NSE All Share Index increased by 207.87 basis points to 32614.05 points from 32406.18 recorded on Tuesday. Investors traded 443.784 million shares worth N5.642 billion in 4697 deals against 361.820 million shares valued at N4.159 billion in 4623 deals.

Sterling Bank Plc recorded the highest volume of activities during the day, exchanging 105.753 million shares worth N253.750 million, Guaranty Trust Bank Plc followed with account of 37.432 million shares worth N1.420 billion, United Bank for Africa traded 33.432 million shares valued at N266.168 million, Access Bank Plc sold 29.393 million shares valued at N187.789 million. Transnational Corporation of Nigeria 25.477 million shares valued at N37.559 million.
