Television host and actor, Nick Cannon, has lost his youngest child, Zen, to brain cancer, just five months after his birth.

Cannon shared the news on his Tuesday episode of “The Nick Cannon Show”.

The 41-year-old host tearfully announced his 5-month-old son’s death on Tuesday. He shared Zen with Alyssa Scott.

According to Cannon, the little boy was diagnosed two months into his birth when he had difficulty breathing.

He tearfully explained the type of brain tumour, hydrocephalus, which according to Mayo Clinic is the buildup of fluid in the cavities deep within the brain, which can damage brain functions.

The 41-year-old host said it’s tough losing his son. He said, “Over the weekend I lost my youngest son to a condition called hydrocephalus that was pretty much a malignant, invasive midline brain tumor, brain cancer.”

“Immediately we had to have surgery,” Cannon said.

The young baby was said to have gone through a series of surgeries and procedures, but has taken a different turn and his tumour was growing fast.

Zen lost the battle on Sunday, December 5, 2021.

According to Cannon, he spent some time with his son before his passing.

Cannon said, “This weekend I made a valid effort to spend the most quality time I could spend with Zen.

“Holding my son for the last time, it was a beautiful setting.

“Usually on Sundays I kinda handle everything I need to handle with the family and then I fly back to New York so I can be here (for the show).”

He went further to talk about how he almost lost the moment, he said, “By the time I got in the car and was headed to the airport, I had to turn around.

“Not only did we see the sunrise, we got to see the sunset, too.

“I didn’t know how I was gonna handle today but I just really wanted to grieve with my family.

“I prayed for the miracle of God’s strength, and that’s why I’m here with you guys today.”

Nick Cannon welcomed other babies this year with different women, he already had twins with Mariah Carey.
