Nigeria records zero new coronavirus case

For the first time in over a year, Nigeria, on Sunday, recorded no fresh coronavirus case.

The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) revealed this via Facebook.

The NCDC, however, said the data does not include Lagos.

According to the health agency, the country’s positive cases is 167,206 while 163,557 patients have recovered, it said 2,117 succumbed to the contagion.

The statement read, “0 new cases of #COVID19Nigeria;

167,206 confirmed

163,557 discharged

2,117 deaths

Note: Today’s update doesn’t include data from Lagos State.

“The report includes 0 cases from FCT, Imo, Sokoto, Nasarawa, Oyo, Ekiti, Kaduna, Edo and Rivers States”.

Nigeria’s cases have dropped in recent times, with the country recording under 100 infections daily.

Meanwhile, India, Brazil and other nations continue to grapple with the virus.

There are currently over 178 millions cases globally with nearly four million deaths.
