Nigeria’s first male Artistic Gymnastics at an Olympic Games, Uche Eke, bowed out of the Tokyo 2020 Olympic  Summer Games.

Eke, 23, competed in the men’s All-Around and finished 36th place in the world with a 74.765 tally points.

He participated in the Pommel Horse, Vault, Rotation, and floor where he gathered points.

The gymnast showed patriotism by representing Nigeria instead of the United States in the Artistic Gymanastics on Saturday morning.

In the Vault, Eke scored 13.433 points while he scored 12.866 in the Pommel Horse and 12.833 in the floor.

The peak of his performance was in the third Rotation, however, he could not get enough points to take him into the quarterfinals.

While there is hope for Esther Toko Tamaraebi, who could still participate in the Rowing events after she failed to finish second place, Eke joins Olufunke Oshonaike, who lost 4-1 in the table tennis to Juan Liu of the United States.
