Actor Kunle Remi has responded to the backlash received over love making scenes in the movie ‘Anikulapo’.

The movie since its release has been on people’s tongues as they continuously debate on who was at fault and who deserves to be punished more.

The viewers went ahead to pick sides on social media platforms giving reasons for their choices as well. The trend had continued on Twitter leading to the viewers pushing for a continuation of the movie.

However, as with every artwork, there has been some criticism especially over the exposure of some body parts during the love making scenes. The female lead, Arolake, was seen in nude positions in some of the scenes where a huge part of her ‘breasts’ were revealed and the male lead’s butt equally showing.

In reaction to this, Kunle on his Instagram said Nigerians are hypocrites because those love scenes wouldn’t have been well portrayed if they had been cut off.

He said Nigerians would be the first to criticise if the acts weren’t well portrayed.

According to him, he said, “A lot of people say the nude scene was not necessary, but I’m gonna say this; as an engineer, I can’t tell you how to engineer, as an accountant I can’t tell you how to do your accounting.

“As a chef, I cant teach you how to cook so as an actor you can’t tell me how far or what I should do in my job. That scene for us symbolised the moment when we were so vulnerable. Anyways Nigerians are hypocrites.

“But that was the most vulnerable moment for these characters and that was the first time they genuinely made love.”
