THE Sultan of Sokoto and the president-general of the Jama’atu Nasril Islam (JNI), Alhaji Muhammad Abubakar Sa’ad, has urged Muslims not to relent in praying to Allah for intervention over the myriad of challenges bedevilling the country.

The Sultan implored Muslims to dedicate special prayers against all the terrible conditions and other related hydra-headed calamities, such as poverty, high cost of living and corruption.

“With the 2023 general elections fast approaching, we need to also seek Allah’s intervention for stability, security, peace and development of Nigeria,” he said.

The Sultan, in a statement signed by the secretary-general of the JNI, Dr Khalid Abubakar Aliyu noted, “If we are not humble before the Almighty Allah, an end to these nightmarish situations seems not in sight if happenings in the country are anything to go by.”

He felicitated with the Nigerian Muslim Ummah on the inception of the new Hijrah calendar, wishing them a prosperous and peaceful new year.
