North East Commission donates food items to Adamawa IDPs

The North East Development Commission (NEDC) has donated food items to Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) in Adamawa.

The News agency of Nigeria (NAN), reports that the items were presented to the state Deputy Governor, Chief Crowther Seth by retired Maj.-Gen. Paul Tarfa the chairman of the commission at a ceremony in Yola.

Tarfa, represented by Mr Waziri Ahmadu, a senior technical adviser of the commission, said the items were made up of 400 bags of 50kg rice and 200 carton of 20 litres vegetable oil.

While reiterating the commitment of the commission towards rebuilding the North East devastated by Boko Haram, Tarfa said members of the commission were in the state on preliminary fact finding mission.

Receiving the items Seth, who is also the chairman of the state Emergency Management Agency (ADSEMA), commended the commission for the support and assured that the items would be judiciously utilised for the benefit of the IDPs.

He urged for more interventions by the commission, pointing out that the state is bedevilled by numerous natural and man-made disasters and needed series of interventions to address the challenges.
