The Nigerian Railway Corporation (NRC) has suspended train operations along the Abuja-Kaduna route indefinitely.
This was made known by the NRC in a post via their official Twitter handle on Tuesday morning.
In a statement, the NRC stated that the suspension was due to unforeseen circumstances.
It read: “Dear passengers, due to unforeseen circumstances, train operations along the Abuja-Kaduna route has been temporarily suspended. Further communication would be given in due course.”
It was earlier reported on Monday night that the train derailed after Improved Explosive Device (IED) planted by the criminals went off a few minutes into the trip.
The incident came just two days after bandits attacked the Kaduna International Airport and killed one person.
