Ondo State Governor, Rotimi Akeredolu of the All Progressives Congress(APC) and his closest rival, Eyitayo Jegede of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), on Saturday, won their respective Local Government Areas by wide margins at the ongoing Guber poll.
Mr Akeredolu is from Owo while Jegede hails from Akure South.
According to the result announced by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), the incumbent polled 35,957 votes in Owo to defeat Jegede who garnered 5,311 votes.
The governor won by over 30,000 votes.
Mr Jegede, however, retaliated in his domain, polling 47,627 votes against Mr Akeredolu’s 17,277.
The total number of registered voters is 138,448 with 44,634 accredited voters.
