Governor Rotimi Akeredolu says his “confidence is in God” after casting his ballot on Saturday at the ongoing Ondo State Governorship poll.

The governor withered the rain to exercise his franchise at about 10:30am in Unit 6, Ward 5 at Isokub in the Ijebu Owo area of the state.

Dressed in a white agbada, the governor arrived at the unit at 9:37 am after the rain which started around 07:50 am had stopped.

“I am confident about winning this election,” the governor said after voting.

“I have always said that mine is about God. I know that God in his infinite mercy will give me victory. My confidence is in God.”

Although, there are 17 political parties on the ballot, it is believed that the contest is between the governor, his estranged deputy and candidate of the Zenith Labour Party, Agboola Ajayi, as well as Peoples Democratic Party’s Eyitayo Jegede.
